I have a broad range of Management experience that can add value to your business.

I started my oilfield career in 1980 as a roustabout for Deutag Drilling on Brent Bravo in the North Sea. The following year, I joined Schlumberger Wireline, where I made many friends and  gained some extremely useful experience over the next 12 years, in various management, marketing, technical and operational roles in the UK, Holland, Norway, West Africa, and Asia Pacific.

When it was time to move on, I used this experience working as a consultant for the next three years, focusing on short-term technical, marketing and organizational projects.

Leading on from the successful conclusion of a project, I joined Sodesep in France as Technical Manger, and moved back to the UK the following to work for the company’s new owner, the Wood Group. I am extremely grateful to Sir Ian and the leadership team at Wood Group for the experience I gained and the trust, support and guidance they provided, enabling me to run Wood Group Production Technology and grow it into one of the world’s foremost permanent downhole monitoring companies, winning new business and establishing operational locations to support it, notably in Norway, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Nigeria, all while improving both revenues and profitability. I even found time to gain my MBA in my “spare time”!

The culmination of these efforts was the sale of the business to WellDynamics in 2005, where I oversaw the integration of the newly-acquired permanent monitoring activities into the WellDynamics organization and project-managed the acquisition of the related RPM business from Halliburton. 

For my last year at WellDynamics, I was VP of the Europe, Africa and CIS. This gave me increased financial responsibility, enabling me to demonstrate doubling of revenues year-on-year while delivering a five-fold increase in profitability, as the new start businesses in these Regions were stabilized.
